First, these sizes run small. I'm in the middle of the sizing charts but a Large was small in the shoulders and chest while the neck gasket was choking tight. I got the XL, though I've never worn anything XL in my life, and it fits great. I tried it this weekend in 60 degree air temps (water temps can be really cold in Colorado) with a moderate breeze and a Wave Lite top underneath and was afraid I'd be drenched with sweat, but instead was totally comfortable. Wow! I might rate it a 5, but can't say how it will hold up over time. Initial quality is good.

This is a decent dry top but it gets an average rating because I don't stay 100% dry in the play park. I thought I initially received a faulty product so I sent it back and NRS replaced it for free but the second dry top has the same problem. Basically water slowly leaks in somewhere at the forearms. When not completely submerged the dry top performs well. I spent 6 days kayaking the Middle Fork of the Salmon at flood stage this year and stayed dry the whole time. The fabric is nice and durable but the fit seems like it could be better, a little too much material for me, I'm a medium at 5'-10" and 160lbs.

Bought the drytop for this spring and as of right now I have no complaints. It seems like a very durable product and I think as long as it's treated well it could last awhile. You do get a little wet rolling/playing in hols etc but I expected that, and I think you would with most drytops.

I use the flux anytime I go on a river now no matter the weather. It was a little tight at the gaskets at first but I put a bottle that was a little bit bigger than the gasket to widen them out a little and it fits perfect now. Plenty of mobility, breathes well and most importantly dry! One of the better buys I have had in awhile and I hope it lasts me a long time.

Caveat: I have not tested it on the water yet. Does feel well made and is designed well. I am 6'1" 215, the XL (what I normally wear) was very tight in the shoulders and rode up my back, however, neither of those problems bothered me since I was losing oxygen fast. The neck gasket read "Large". I sent it back (NRS customer service is incredible-why I buy from them) for an XXL. Feels much better, but a little snug in the neck. All else is good-maybe I'm in rut!

Hello!
My NRS dry top is great. The dry tunnel spray deck combo is perfectly comfortable and water tight.
I jumped in to rescue my friend in his upturned kayak wearing the top with spray deck and dry pants. I ended up with a soaked midriff, probably down to my dry pants not being tucked in and leaky dry pants. My upper body stayed dry. I've never found a dry top-dry pants combo that keep you dry when swimming in whitewater.

I am 6'0", 205, broad shoulders, 46 chest, 37" sleeves, and 17.5" neck. I bought an extra large. Neck is so tight I don't know if I can get used to it. Stretched it over a bowl and tried it again. Hi Folks,
I have a variety of NRS gear for upper body and it's all sized "large" fitting well. Will the Flux Drytop continue to fit me similarly, or should I size up. I am 5'10", 160lbs, 40" chest, 33" waist without upper body gear on.
Also, should this top seal well against your John's Suit? Seems the lower body is ok (hydo-skin under johns suit) in cold water, but the upper body is really ICY wearing a hydo-silk with zip front hydo-skin. Think if I could keep the upper body dryer the colder water would be tolerable and to me 60 degree water is cold.
Will a balaclava, I should here that "over" the neck seal?

Your measurements are right in the Large size. The double pull waist will seal pretty well but not be totally waterproof in a long swim. Definitely wear the neck gasket directly against your skin.Answered on 10/8/2012 by Clyde from NRS
