NRS products are very well built. Functions very well in inclement weather. Cleans easily. Very durable. This jacket fits well, but normally NRS sizes are too small. example LRG sizes barely fit MD bodies. I have to order XL or XXL for LRG. WE all do not have model bodies and aren't super slim either. Please get feed back when sizing products from the field and not from models.

This is a nice looking jacket and fits nicely but the zippers are too stiff to be functional. May send it back as the zippers are just too hard to move and you have to use two hands and a lot of effort to zip and unzip.

when on the water with a paddle in one hand this just does not work.

Comments about NRS Full Zip Sea Tour Jacket - Closeout:

I bought this jacket for sea kayaking and backpacking. I have worn it in dry and wet weather and loved how it performed. I stayed dry in a down pour. On cold days the material stays soft unlike other fabrics that stiffen and get "krinckly". I did find the jacket a bit sweaty comparted to gortex, however it is just as breathable as compared to other waterproof breathable jackets. My two complaints are that it needs a two way zipper, and it fits a bit bigger than the sizing guide suggests. The chest is larger than the waist and it tappers from chest to waist. On the plus size the roomy chest area allows enough space to wear a pfd underneath. Overall, I would recommend this jacket for kayaking, canoeing, and general outdoor use.

Picked this as a gift for my wife. Was looking for a shell she could take paddling. This could go anywhere there's damp weather - hot or cold. I was concerned about the fit, but it's roomy enough in her size to cover a PFD if needed. This will work not only for paddling, but as an all around, packable shell. Great find!

The toggle to lock the drawcord is on the inner face of the jacket

Can you tell me how much stretch is in this jacket? I'm looking for a jacket for sailing and need some ease of movement to get around the boat.

Is this a "soft shell," and "hard shell," or a hybrid?

Can you tell me about the HyproTex technology? Is this one of the recent fabrics based on the GoreTex technology now out of patent? Or eVent or something else?

                  Thanks!

Jacket size is smaller than expected. I ordered one size up and it was
still too small. Product is claimed that it will easily fit over a life
jacket, however, that it is not true. It is a very tight fit over my
lifejacket. I would have difficulty putting it on over the lifejacket
while underway in my sea kayak.
Lastly, the zipper is one way. Since the jacket fits pretty tight, two way
zip is pretty essential to comfort.
Other than the above, the jacket is well made and appears to be water
                    resistant.
I purchased the jacket several months ago. I should have sent it back, but
did not. I have taken it with on one trip, but never felt the desire to try
                    it out.
I did some pretty extensive research and there is not a really good
lightweight all purpose breathable rain jacket with pit zips, back flap,
hood, easy to put on while underway in sea kayak.

I wear it over my PDF, I like it because it is very roomy with lots of draw cords to keep the wind and rain out. It can be very warm during physical activity and is great for layering. It does not stretch but has room for movement.

Not too much stretch, I would characterize it as a hard shell, its
definitely waterproof. I use it for kayaking and the range of motion in
the upper body is perfectly fine, even with the cuffs sealed and the hood
up. Though I'm not a sailor I think it would be great for that purpose

                    Hi,
Sorry for the slow reply but I've been unexpectedly out of town....
Overall, the Sea Tour Jacket is pretty sweet. It was lighter than I
expected which I guess is both good and bad. I don't think you have to
treat it delicately, but it's not as beefy as other more heavy duty
jackets. Honestly, I think it would be a great sailing jacket. Very
waterproof although not quite as breathable as I would have liked. It's
tailored well for excellent freedom of movement. I use it mainly for
climbing and sea kayaking. Not sure what the material is but you could
research that on the NRS site. Seems kind of like a hybrid with lots of
