This was a replacement for one that wore out prematurely. As usual, NRS' wonderful customer service folks took the time to listen to me and, as usual, they made me happy again. NRS should market seminars on how to make customers happy to all other mail order companies. When I have had poor service from the phone company, bike companies, cable companies etc, I suggested that they investigate NRS to see how customer service is SUPPOSED to be done.

Everything was great except the arm bands at the biceps were way too tight. I'm 6', 175lbs and I'd say my biceps are average or maybe a little larger than normal. There is no way I could have withstood the tightness of the bands, so I had to return this product. It's too bad, because I liked the shirt otherwise. I wouldn't call it a jacket. It's relatively lightweight.

My biceps are not big at all for my body size, 6", 183 lbs. Even so, the seals on the sleeves were a tad tight.
No pockets to keep small stuff like lip balm or keys.
No attachment points to fasten stuff.

Comments about NRS Payette Jacket - Closeout:

This jacket exactly meets my need for a lightweight short sleeve paddling jacket. It is well-constructed and generally comfortable. My only comment is that the seals on the ends of the short sleeves are very tight around my biceps--and I have only average-size biceps for an athletic guy of my size (6'4" tall; 205 lbs.) I wish the seals were a little more forgiving in the stretchability department. Sometimes I worry that my lower arms are not getting enough blood supply! Otherwise, this is a great value--good, stylish jacket for a very reasonable price. I'd go for it if you're looking for a lightweight paddling jacket.

Comments about NRS Payette Jacket - Closeout:

This is my third Payette Splash top--over a couple of decades--the only sad thing, is eventually, after many happy days on the water, the jacket will wear out. Great for those periods when a dry suit/top is too much, but you need some splash protection. Lots of shoulder room, so your paddle strokes aren't restricted.

              Q:

How does the men's sizing compare for women with the NRS Payette Jacket - closeout? Is the weight and hight chart apply the same? I usually wear a size 10 in street clothes.

Candice, please consult the sizing chart and compare your measurements to the ones listed. The Payette is available in sizes S-XXL.

                I'm tall/slim and wear a 10 or 12 depending on cut
I bought the short sleeve Mens medium and am very happy, with the fit
across the shoulders/chest/length. The neck is a little bit loose, but
since it's my warm weather gear I'm not too concerned-I may add a bit
more velcro if too much water runs in
hope this helps- I would recommend it

Buy one size up from what you would normally order. My men's large fits my girlfriend at 5' 10" , 160 lbs (we're in our 50's, so give us a break). I would normally buy a medium. Would recommend for sure, love mine.

I'm 6'4" and 205 lbs and use the XL version of this jacket.  It's plenty long enough and roomy in the body; tight on the arms.  If you wear a size 10 dress I would imagine that the Large would certainly be big enough.  It might be a little large on you but who cares?  I doubt that it would be sloppy big.  Unfortunately, I don't really know how the men's and women's compare size for size.  I think this is a unisex jacket, isn't it?  Sorry I'm not more helpful.

I have the Men's medium and I wear a size 14 blazer or blouse, sometimes a 12, which is due to broad shoulders.
If you are a 10 you would need a small or extra small.
