NRS Men's Edge Splash Pants Q: During a recent river outing, my Edge Splash Pants received an approximately 2-inch straight tear, in the front quite far from seams. Recommended repair techniques or methods for this material? Asked on 6/5/2013 by Jerry Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: I'd try tear-aid fabric tape. Apply it carefully with about 0.5 inch clearance around the rip. Then, put some masking tape 0.5 inches around that patch and paint inside the tape with seam seal, a thin even coat. Remove the tape and let cure according to label directions. On my coated nylon canoe bags this works like a charm. HTH - Beau Answered on 6/5/2013 by Anonymous
NRS Men's Edge Splash Pants Q: I am 5-10 170lbs with 36" waist and want to wear over seat pants....would yo recommend large or x large? Asked on 12/26/2012 by waldo from new york Know the answer? Answer this question 8 answers A: My husband got XL for his 36in waist..good fit and great pants for white water rafting Answered on 12/27/2012 by Anonymous A: To Whom It May Concern, I bought the large. I'm about the same height and weight and find them to be very roomy. Mike Watch for motorcycles! :) Answered on 1/3/2013 by Anonymous A: If you're adding a lot of bulk under the pants, the XL might be more comfortable. Or, order both sizes and return one. Answered on 12/26/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: Can't say with 100% certainty but I think large should work. Regardless, NRS has great customer service and I'm sure they would gladly do an exchange if your first choice didn't fit the way you want it to. Hope this helps. Answered on 12/26/2012 by Anonymous A: Large should fit best (they probably will be a little long- I'm 6' and they're long for me). Great pants, though. Answered on 12/26/2012 by Anonymous A: hello xlarge would definitely be too long. they are even a bit long for 6'. go with the large. Answered on 12/26/2012 by Anonymous A: I am 6'2" and weigh 250 with a 40-42 inch waist. The XXL fit me well. I chose that size based on the NRS sizing chart that is reliable. Sounds to me like a large would fit you but I recommend referring to the sizing chart. . Answered on 12/26/2012 by Anonymous A: I'm 6'2" and the XL are a little long on me. But I'm a 36 waist and they fit perfectly around the waist. So you have a dilemma! The L will fit your height better, but the XL will fit your waist better. I'd try the L... if they are too tighjt around the waist, you can always exchange them. NRS is great about that! Answered on 12/26/2012 by Anonymous
NRS Men's Edge Splash Pants Q: I fall into both L and XL for these and trying to decide which to order. I am right at 6', 180#, 35 waist/32 inseam. I plan to use these as normal boat/fishing/wet hiking pants and also for kayak fishing, very often with no layer under them, so I don't want them way too big. But at times I will need a thin base layer under them, so I do need room for that. What do you think? Would a L have room for the thin base layer? Would the XL be too big/long?....cheers, roger Asked on 12/10/2012 by coho roger from Florence OR Know the answer? Answer this question 8 answers A: XL way too large if your size is 180, 35, 32 I am 175, 34,32 and they fit perfect. I could fit thin long underwear under mine without being too tight and not baggy at all. I originally ordered the endurance pants and sent them back, they were way too baggy!! Good luck I love mine! Answered on 12/10/2012 by Snake River Guy from Jackson Hole Wy A: I have a pair. I use them about the same way that you are thinking about using them, Roger. I have put base layers on underneath them and I use them as my rain gear as well. So, I am able to throw them on right over whatever I am wearing. They work great! I love them! I'm about 5'10 / 190lbs. : 34 waist / 32 inseam I wear a large and they are perfect. BUT, I would not go any smaller!!!!! The waist is not the problem for me, nor is the length. Its the thighs. Any smaller would be uncomfortably tight for me. Especially with clothing on underneath. I do tend to wear clothing that is lose fitting. I do not like to feel restricted by my paddle gear. You may want to try the XLs. You are (obviously) taller than I. But, you also (IMHO) seem to fall better into the XL scale of their sizing chart. I would worry that the Large would be just a little too snug for you if you decided to wear them with a base layer or threw them on over some other clothing. Net/Net: I don't think the XLs will feel to big, especially if you have layers underneath. The large would probably work, as long as you didn't really wear anything underneath. Of course, that sort of restricts your use of them. According to the sizing chart, XL should not be a problem for you at your height. 2nd Net/Net: NRS has an awesome return policy. If I were you, I'd probably order the XL and see how they fit. Try them commando, with a base layer and with full on clothing. If it feels too baggy, long or whatever, return them for the large. Good luck and I hope this helps! This message brought to you by Pete ~Anatoli Boukreev Answered on 12/10/2012 by abqhack from New Mexico A: I bought the XL for my husband who is ~ 6' but heavier. If he were 180# he says he would get the L, as the XL are a bit too long, but needed more room for the weight. Hope this helps. Answered on 12/10/2012 by Anonymous A: The pants are cut for layering underneath. The Large should fit you. Answered on 12/10/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: I am also 6' even, 175 pounds, I would go with the XL. I have worn them with shorts or sweatpants underneath, sure they're loose fitting but length was good, great for sailing or kayaking. I purchased on line so cant compare with L size. Answered on 12/10/2012 by Anonymous A: I have the XL. I am 6'2" 210. 36 waist 34 inseam. The XL is a little long for me and has plenty of room for a polyprop midwight layer underneath. I think the L would probably be better than XL for you. Good luck, and keep in mind NRS has an excellent return policy, so if you guess wrong, you're only out the time it takes to swap. Bob Answered on 12/10/2012 by Anonymous A: My husband got the XL. He Is 6' 2" and weighs 200 lbs and wears 36 w and 34 inseam. Pants were awesome for whitewater early summer water conditions with room for thin layer if needed Sent from my iPhone Answered on 12/10/2012 by Anonymous A: Happy to help out. I have these pants in a size Large. I am 6'4" and 200lbs and they fit me very well. I have worn them with fleece pants and long underwear and there was plenty of room. Hope you enjoy them.
