It is a workout just to get them on and I STRONGLY recommend stretching the gaskets! For the ankles I used a nalgene water bottle and it was really helpful. Don't be afraid to stretch the gaskets. The ankle ones were still slightly too tight and I'll continue to stretch them. I tested out the top and bottoms on a short raft trip this past weekend when I was tossed into the river for a short swim. Water did get into the dry suit although I was completely sure of that until I got to camp. My base layers were wet but I did not get cold. The fit is great and they are comfy. For kayaking or light recreation I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. I'm still deciding whether I'll keep them for the trip or return them for something that will keep water out completely. These pants fit great with extra room in thigh and seat for women. Unfortunately both of the leg gaskets have ripped after only two or three paddles. NRS was gracious enough to replace the first gasket but now I need to send them back again for the second leg. This is a huge inconvenience because it takes several weeks to get them back. Granted the replacement seems to be a little better quality. Why didn't they replace both from the start? I hope they have worked on improving the design of the gasket. Best Uses Comments about NRS Women's Athena Dry Pants: Got these for my wife and she loves them! She's a petite 5'3", and they are a bit bulky around her hips, but keep her dry and allow for layers underneath. She's worn them on the river a few times so far with no problems.

Comments about NRS Women's Athena Dry Pants: The Athena dry pant is well made and attractive. In fact they are better than my older Kokatats. The only caviat is that they look like Jodhpurs. There is enough space in the bottom and thighs for two paddlers! Clearly, these pants were not made in Asia.

Comments about NRS Women's Athena Dry Pants: I really liked the fit of these pants and thought I'd finally found a great waterproof woman's dry pant. Sadly, despite usual care one ankle gasket ripped very easily my first time out Oct 31,2011; brand new pants. Duck taped for on spot repairs, later did extensive successful self repair. Then the other gasket tore, even though I was being extra careful after the first experience. Worst of all, now the seam tape has become unstuck in multiple places through the crotch after only two uses last fall and one use this fall, 3 total. And the tall stretch waist is not at all waterproof. Very disappointed, I will be asking for refund since despite nice design, I can't trust the seams even if gaskets were replaced.

Comments about NRS Women's Athena Dry Pants: Not a good dry pant if you are not kayaking. My spray skirt kept the top of the dry pants snug.
