I am a plump older woman with arthritis. Getting a wetsuit that actually fits means I can exercise in an unheated pool year round. Since it lacks sleeves, I got a men's wetsuit jacket to wear over it (a women's jacket would fit better), and I already had some neoprene footwear. Water in the 60s poses no problem, and I think I will be able to use it well into the 50s as well, which is as cold as the water should ever get here. With water in the 60s I have remained submerged to the collar bone for an hour and a quarter and still felt comfortable. The only drawback is getting it on and off, which is made more difficult by painful fingers. The zippers help, but it is a chore. Mine has never dried out completely since I got it - even after three days. I would like to exercise in the pool daily, so I will have to get another one since I really don't like getting into a wet wetsuit. By the second day it is more damp than wet.

I'm a bigger girl sz22-24, I hoped this would fit, I could get into it fine, width wise there was no problem, it wasn't long enough in the torso or legs. I'm 5'9" and it was to tight. I also didn't like the thickness on the buttocks and the legs, so I sent mine back, if your short and need the padding it would be a good suit.

Comments about NRS Women's Venus Wetsuit:

I bought the NRS Venus Wet suit to wear while cold water kayaking. I cut off the spandex sleeves so that I could enter/exit the suit easier like a Farmer Jane style suit. I also have a pair of NRS Sasquatch kayaking booties. Well made and durable kayaking gear. Great products! I would recommend them to fellow paddlers! Thank you.

Used for whitewater rafting in cold water. I'm a size 6 and 5'10".The large was perfect! Had the adventure of a lifetime and was comfortable the whole way!! The ankle zippers do chafe your leg a little but only after about 8hrs on the water. Next day I was fine.

Always when borrowing wetsuits they've been to long for my short legs, or to small for my round body. This is perfect! Only a 4 since I haven't tried it in water. But I'm just happy to have found something that fits me!

Comments about NRS Women's Venus Wetsuit:

NRS doesn't make a women's wetsuit in large sizes for short women. I had mine professionally altered (had to put some effort into finding someone who is skilled with working with wetsuits). You can't just lop off the bottom of the legs as it would impact the fit of the knee padding and in fact the entire wetsuit. Why not offer women's wetsuits in SHORT sizes...like XL and XXL Short or Petites as a special order? C'mon, I know there are plus size short paddlers out there!

Camilla, the Venus Wetsuit is being discontinued and we're out of that size already.
