When seas gets rough and rivers get big, pull out your HydroSkin Jacket for warmth and peace of mind. You never know when you will need that extra bit of insulation for comfort and safety.
  • Extra girth is built into our "Grizzly" HydroSkin Jackets because even barrel chested paddlers get cold sometimes.

  • 0.5mm Terraprene™ is thick enough to add the extra warmth you need without being bulky and uncomfortable.

  • The zippered front entry makes the HydroSkin Jacket easy to put on at a moment's notice when the weather turns nasty.

  • Lightweight Terraprene is compact and easy to stow in a drybag or stuff sack for easy access.

  • 4-way stretch PowerSpan™ outer layer allows easy, unrestricted mobility.

  • ThermalPlush lining increases insulation, repels moisture, dries quickly and feels soft against the skin.

  • Titanium laminate adhesive aids in body heat retention.

  • Spandex underarms eliminate binding, making this top superior as a single outer layer or as a base layer.

  • DWR coating makes water bead up and roll off for decreased evaporative cooling and quicker drying times between trips.
  • Neoprene:  0.5-mm Terraprene™ neoprene
  • Material:
    • 4-way stretch PowerSpan outer layer
    • ThermalPlush™ inner lining

Comments about NRS Men's "Grizzly" HydroSkin Jacket:

Great fit for the more stocky build. Very comfortable and easy to to get on & off. On really cold days I'll wear it over my "Hydro" Grizzy Johns and if its windy I'll pair it with some shorts. Highly recommend this for fit, warmth and comfort!

        Service and delivery comments:

Very fast delivery. Great customer service when it came to questions about sizing and about Hydroskin in general.

Comments about NRS Men's "Grizzly" HydroSkin Jacket:

I have had trouble finding a wet suit that was comfortable across the chest , allowed flexibility for paddling, but still fit legs and waist. I found this in combination with pants did the trick for cool water paddling .

Comments about NRS Men's "Grizzly" HydroSkin Jacket:

Finally a version cut for the 'thicker' of us - I am fairly short but with a wide ribcage - the normal version was way too tight across the shoulders, but the grizzly version fits great. The normal versions seem to be sized for tall/skinny surfer-dudes - tried larger sizes, but all they seemed to do was make them taller with longer sleeves. The Grizzly version adds lots of size to the chest width. I use this with the Hydroskin pants (normal sizes are fine there) on cold days in the kayak and sailboat - very comfortable on a long day out.

                  Q:

I tried your hydro skin paddle jacket. In size L (from REI). It was too tight at the chest , waist and under the arm pits. What do you suggest? Grizzly?
                  I weight 165 lbs.
                  And I am 5'6" tall
                  Waist: 39"
                  Chest: 42.5"

                  Thank you,

                  HM

even with the plus sizing on the Grizzly line I still had to go up one size from what the chart said.

I haven't paddled in my Grizzly jacket yet. I would suggest ordering an XL
regular and a Grizzly. Send the one that is too big (or small) back.

I'm not sure that I'm the best resource for sizing advice. I'm 6'2" and
200 lbs - my chest and waist are fairly close to yours (with long legs and
a short torso), maybe just a tad narrower. I got the 2XL which is pretty
snug on me to wear under other wetsuits or paddle jackets and a 4XL to wear
over other stuff. As far as where you are with tightness, I would recommend
at least a 2XL if not a 3XL (if your shoulders are wide or thick at all) -
don't know how the sleeve lengths will work.

are xxl.. I have a jacket zip front and it is loose... same size I believe...
The shirts could be looser in the chest but that is what it is... don't know
                    if that helps Yunck

I'm torn between this and the Grizzly 2mil jacket..

The use sea kayaking.. but relatively light exposures.. mountain lakes.. sloughs, small bays and inlets.. figure I could layer pretty easily and this might be more comfortable.. Winter air temps to the mid 40's.. much colder I'll stay by the fire.. Any thoughts ??

                  Thanks MIke

I hate feeling confined when I paddle but I hardly notice the hydroskin so
                    that is a big plus.
2 mil probably not. the hydroskin is plenty for me alone in 50 degree air
though not enough if water temp is that low.

                    Hi
I use this jacket with a farmer john Hydroskin suit north of Boston Spring and fall. Undergarments are t-shirt and bathing suit
I find I need to use a rain gear to break the wind, other wise it is uncomfortable. I use really light rain gear (Cabella's packable rain jacket and pants) but, with the lightweight Hydroskin suit, it is enough
It would not be enough for winter
