Comments about NRS Women's HydroSilk Shirt - S/S:

This was a birthday gift for my wife. She was hoping for something like this for our kayaking trips. She liked everything about it! Unfortunately due to a cold spring in Upstate New York we haven't been out on the water yet. Perhaps we'll have an update in August! Thank you NRS!

      Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt and arrived in fine condition. I did call NRS for a service question and they were quite helpful. It was real nice getting a person to speak with who is knowledgable of their products!

Big fan of this shirt! It fits well, is cute without being overly girly, and feels well made (quality-wise). My usage has been for cooler days on the river & with a waterproof layer over top it has totally fit the bill. Haven't found myself cold at all while others around me were shivering. No cons to this purchase thus far!

Just spent a couple of weeks on the Green River and this shirt was a daily part of the wardrobe. Very comfortable and durable. Was pleased that it didn't smell bad even after several days of wear in very hot weather! I can't say the same for my other clothes. This shirt also held up great when walking trails and involved in other camp activities. No snags or tears. Love this shirt! Besides that, it's pretty sexy.

Like the double fabric on the shoulders for extra sun protection. Fabric drys quickly and is breathes so it is not hot to wear.

                    Q:

Is the fabric in this unlikley to be stained by a muddy/silty river such as the San Juan, or is this better saved for a more mud-free adventure?

                      A:

I'm not 100% sure as I have not been in very silty muddy water with it. I
have a grass stain on mine that I can't get out in the normal wash. Also I
may not be the best judge as I don't really know how muddy water treats
kayak gear. I would imagine that repeated use in dirty water without
washing the same day may stain it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I personally have not been in muddy water with this shirt, however I have been in muddy water with a white cotton shirt--- bad idea!!! Cotton tends to stain very easily. I would think this HydroSilk fabric to be more stain resistant than most fabrics, and if you rinse in clean water at the end of the day it would help get the mud out in any case! Hope this helps some, anyway

                      Hi there,
I've used my shirt as a rash guard for snorkeling, so while I can say it's performed well in salt water, it has not been exposed to mud. I soak and handwash all of my swimwear in mild soap ASAP (and/or rinse under a shower) after I'm done, which I assume would help dilute and loosen grime in any case.

Mary, the fabric is a nylon/spandex blend. I can't tell you how allergic it will be to the muddy San Juan. Sorry.

                      Hi,
I have a short sleeve and a long sleeve hyrdrosilk in grey. I kayak silty
water in the spring. I've not had any staining.

We have not had any problem with staining. While SCUBA diving or
snorkeling and in contact with the bottom, fine silt will get trapped in
the fabric, but it does wash out.
