Form fitting without sacraficing mobility. Great full arm coverage to wrist. Neck is high, but not binding. Surprisingly breathable on a warm sunny day! Great product for those looking for 50 SPF protection.

Comments about NRS Women's HydroSilk Shirt - L/S:

I bought this for sun protection on a kayak/rafting trip and was very pleased. It was a good weight: thick enough to retain a little heat but thin enough that I could still wear it on hot days (provided I was getting splashed enough). I love the color and style as well as its functionality.

Comments about NRS Women's HydroSilk Shirt - L/S:

I am a kayaker. I used the product several ways depending on weather. On Lake Superior I used it as a base layer under wetsuit (Farmer Jane) with a paddle jacket on top. I stayed warm and comfortable. On Lake Michigan on warmer days, it was the only layer under my PFD while practicing rescues where I was in the water. It was comfortable, flexible, and dried quickly. My favorite clothes are ones I cannot feel when I wear them. This top does the job.

                  Q:

I am looking for a long sleeve top to keep me warm while I swim laps in the wintertime. I also want something that has a lot of mobility. Will this top help keep me warm or should I look at the mid weight layers?

                  Thanks!

                    Hi Rachael,
This top will keep the sun off and would help with preventing jellyfish stings if ocean swimming, but it will not keep you warm.
In fact, in the summer, a top like this will keep you cool if it stays wet. Helpful on hot days rafting or kayaking.
I would use hydroskin long sleeve top for what you are planning, but there may be newer lightweight insulating choices as well.
Legs may also need to be covered...

                    Rachel,
I have this top and I wear it to the beach to protect my skin from the sun, sometimes I get warm.  I wear it in an indoor pool while I play with my children. While I would not say this shirt keeps me warm (but I am not swimming laps, I am pretty much standing there), I am sure I am warmer than if I only had my bikini top on.  It is easy to move in this shirt.  I would think this would be warm enough for swimming laps - you do  not want to be too warm, right?
                    Hope this helps,
                    Jeanne
