Comments about NRS Men's Crossover Shirt - L/S:

I purchased this in the off season (late Winter 2011/12) and the first time I used it was as a baselayer while snowboarding. It performed very well keeping me dry through a range of layering and activity levels. The crossover shirt really became one of my favorites though once hot weather paddling season arrived. I mostly used it in lieu of sunscreen for my arms and torso in extremely hot and sunny conditions for everything from canoe trips on mountain streams in Georgia to SUP fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. I found it to be very comfortable across a large range of conditions. I also liked the fact that it did not stretch out a lot while worn IN the water as a pseudo rash guard. A minor con (that every other shirt in this class of products have) is that I could not remove some stains from baked in sunscreen + salt sweat around the collar and the lighter shaded material permanently changed color a bit after an ill-advised afternoon in a very algae filled warm water creek. Considering how often I wore it, there is not much more that I could ask for. I just bought another one for this season as well as another to gift for a good friend.

What is the difference between the crossover and the hydrosilk.

This is actually lighter and looser fitting than the hydro silk. I wear it on 60 degree + days and mainly for casual wear not performance. Hope that helps.

The Crossover has HydroSilk (UPF 50+) shoulders and arms; the area that gets the most direct sun, and MicroLite (UPF 45 and a lighter weight fabric) in the torso. The HydroSilk garments are all HydroSilk fabric.
