I purchased the water filter system after kayak camping at a state park few years ago and found that the water so rusty that drinking it was very unpleasant. After purchasing the Katadyn filter, there was no rust, no unpleasant taste, or odor, and operating the pump was easy. After a few years of use, I was glad to see that the replacement filters were available, which led me to my purchasing of the new filter cartage. I am looking forward to many years of using this system, and would recommend this product to anyone who may be considering purchasing a water filtration system.

This bag filter is great to set up in camp with four or five people to provide a source for great tasting, clean water. It is quick to set up and produces water while you are do other things unlike pumps that require total attention. The only drawback is freezing temperatures; it ices up fairly quickly.
