Use your Fire-Sil Firepan Ground Cloth to keep coals and ashes from fouling campsites and possibly causing wildfires. Great 'Leave No Trace' camping accessory. Meets permit requirements.
  • Fireproof and durable, the Fire-Sil fabric will give you years of use.

  • Approximately 5' x 6' (30 sq. ft.), the Ground Cloth gives great coverage for collecting the ashes and embers that can fall out of your firepan.

  • While the Ground Cloth can take the heat of embers and burning wood that fall out of your Firepan, put these burning materials back in as soon as possible to prolong the Cloth's life.

  • Be a good environmental citizen - use a Firepan and this Firepan Ground Cloth to help leave your campsite as clean as you found it.

  • Be sure to have a minimum of 4 inches of space between the bottom of the firepan and your Ground Cloth.

  • Many government agencies are now requiring the use of a ground cloth underneath the Firepan.

  • Don't build fires directly on the Ground Cloth; prolonged exposure to this level of heat will shorten its life.

  • In an emergency you can build a small, short duration fire on a mound of 3-4 inches of sand placed on top of the Cloth.
  • Material: Fire-Sil flame retardant fabric
  • Size: 5' x 6', 30 sq. ft
  • Weight: 3.5 lbs.

Comments about FSP Fire Blanket for Firepan:

I am also using it for the wood patio to prevent burn throughs. works great. even too big for small deck in apt, but no problem folding to fit. folding to put away is harder, especially after being warned to fold in different ways to avoid fabric fatigue. i like it, bottom line.

Easy to use. Leaves the ground under the firepan in nearly untouched condition.

Comments about FSP Fire Blanket for Firepan:

It works well as it is intended - to catch debris falling out of your firepan (if you build a fire in it other than charcoal). The smaller one probably would have been sufficient. The instructions tell you to fold it up differently every time you use it, so it is apparently prone to splitting or cracking along repeated fold seams? The Park Service requires one, but the BLM guys were happy to see we had one.

Comments about FSP Fire Blanket for Firepan:

We use this fire blanket primarily on our 2nd story wood porch under the Weber grill. When pouring the charcoal out of the chimney starter thingy and into the grill, 10 times out of 10 some burning pieces of coal fall out. They used to fall out on to the porch and (a) burn a hole in the wood and (b) fall through the slats and land on our kayaks hanging below. Now with the fire blanket there our yaks (and the porch) are safe!
