Use for backcountry auto/mc trips. Great for storing trash (keeps the animals out), ashes from camp fires, tools, tire chains, motorcycle stand. Use a couple of 1" NRS straps to secure them to the roof rack. Keep the seals in the top lubricated and they will keep anything inside dry. They are heavy, but that makes them indestructable.

Hinge wouldn't operated properly. Used liquid wrench to loosen. After repeated flexing, it broke. A surplus item should be checked prior to shipment. Hassle-free shopping and ordering is what I want. I obtained a nice one from another supplier.

I'm using 2 of these boxes to make some hard panniers for my motorcycle. They are solid in construction and arrived in good condition with tight seals and minimal rust. The steel is a bit heavy but the price is right!

As this is a surplus product from the military I wasn't sure what to expect, I was surprised to find a bit of rust externally however the seals were good. With just a little work (iron scrub pad, wd40, primer paint, and black water resistant paint), I have two boxes that look great, rust free, water tight and rock solid. I tested them by running them over with my tank. Ok, no I didn't actually do that... ...I don't own a tank. But they look great and I would say to other customers to expect a little prep to make them like new. I am now envy of the "envy-my-rocket-boxes" world.
