We draped them over tree branches in the kitchen area to provide a bit of ambient lighting and to set a fun mood, and they worked perfectly for that purpose. They are not really bright enough to provide much usuable light for reading or other nightime tasks, but they help to fill in the shadows from lanterns for heavy kitchen work. They work great for finding the next beer or mixing a cocktail. I predict several future sales from other folks on the trip. I'm comparing that to a similar, less expensive battery-powered light strand that I bought after seeing how weak the ENO lights are. The cheap strand and the ENO lights have similar battery holders that are secured with a screw. The length of the strand and number of LEDs is similar. But the cheap strand puts out much more light. The ENO lights are not only dim but the lenses on the LEDs are directional. The cheap strand puts out brighter light over more area. I wouldn't consider the ENO lights to be bright enough to to be of any real utility on the river, not even in the "emergency" role that ENO suggests. I'd guess the ENO lights will run longer since they're so dim, but if they don't provide useful light, what's the point? For the price, ENO should have included a fastener of some sort to secure the strand and the battery holder. The light strand idea is good but I think brighter lights and clips or hook-and-loop fasteners are really needed to make the ENO Twilights a good value. Comments about ENO Twilights LED Lights: These are lights-- not much to say except: beautiful, stunning, and wonderful.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about ENO Twilights LED Lights: Purchased two of these strands for a raft trip and wish I had about 10. They are super fun and very bright. The rotating colors are fun. Very compact, easy to pack away in a small ziploc and easy to hang up anywhere. These will be super fun for so many activities.

Comments about ENO Twilights LED Lights: Got these as a nightlight for the toddler in the tent and they work for that and can run all night without being too bright. Overall though - disappointed with the cheap build quality. A few of the lights didn't work at all fresh out of the box due to loose wires and the battery case is flimsy at best. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you could probably make some of these for a fraction of the cost.

Cons Best Uses Comments about ENO Twilights LED Lights: We used these lights on a Middle Fork Trip by attaching them on a 6' umbrella. They were bright enough for reading but unobtrusive. They also added a festive atmosphere to the campfire.

Comments about ENO Twilights LED Lights: We hung them inside the tent. Nice diffuse light. The kids slept while my wife read a book, at the same time! Great value...
