Comments about NRS Titanium Pilot Knife:

I use the knife sea kayaking. If you boat on salt water, you are going to want to pay the extra amount to get this titanium knife. I've had the rust-proof and so-called "corrosion-resistant" knives, but they corrode in salt water. If all you do is fresh water, then stainless steel gives the best value. For salt water, go for the titanium blade.

Comments about NRS Titanium Pilot Knife:

I found the knife to be about what I expected. A light weight accesible cutting tool to have easy at hand while on the river. The cutting edge is minimal, the serated portion takes half the blade and does not cut so well. But does manage with minimal effort. Very light weight and rust proof, handy scabbard. I have a large hand and the handle is a little too minimal for my hand size, but the grip is secure. Not a great knife but certainly a useful cutting tool.

Comments about NRS Titanium Pilot Knife:

I needed a knife that I could attach to my PFD for emergency situations. It had to be short, blunt-tipped with a serrated, fixed blade, low-bulk, low-profile, corrosion proof, non-slip handle, securely stowable but easy to unclip with one hand. This knife is the ticket!

The only thing I would change is to make the the handle another 1/2"-1" longer, so the glass-breaking tip would extend beyond the base of my palm instead of being flush with it.

It's hard to beat - I'd tried, including the Co-Pilot, which is much too small for my hand.

Comments about NRS Titanium Pilot Knife:

I was so excited to receive my new titanium Pilot and it is everything I thought it would be. Unfortunately, it's just a little more than I thought it would be. When attached to my Stohlquist Rocker PVD lash tab, it extends down so far that it would puncture my spray skirt. Not necessarily a fault of the knife. It's just too big a knife for a Rocker, so I'll be returning it.

            Service and delivery comments:

Great service and fast delivery as always from NRS.

Comments about NRS Titanium Pilot Knife:

I use this knife for offshore sailing, and it works very well. It shows no signs of rust, and as it's made of titanium, it shouldn't. The multiple functions of this knife are all very useful, and the holder is extremely secure.

              Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt, and the package arrived in great condition.

              • NRS Titanium Pilot Knife

                Q:

I currently have a co-pilot and considering buying the titanium pilot, however having a challenge with the holder. I love that it is sturdy and not going to come out of holder until I take it out, but don't seem to have a good way to connect it to my backpack. Are there other options for a holder - I want to attach to my backpack shoulder strap so that the knife is up/down (vs. sideways across the stap) but even if I use a velcro cross strap it falls right off of it since there is that opening to slide it on. Clear as mud? Thanks for your input !!

                  A:

I would suggest either attaching it with plastic zip ties or sewing a thick piece of webbing to your backpack strap, that would serve like the lash tab on life jackets, as an anchor point.
