Great Idea, poor execution

I was excited to try this clip out, but when I gave it a go, unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The paddle clipped into the clip nicely, but the problem is with the way the device attaches to the edge of the cockpit. It just was not a solid connection in any way. The clip would slide around the cockpit rim easily, and so could not be kept in a desired spot with any kind of ease because if you bumped your paddle while it was clipped in you would move the clip. I thought this product would have more of a positive grip on the yak than what it actually does.
Returned it for a refund. NRS customer service is top notch! They make you feel confident to take a chance on new products, because you won't get burned....just return it if you don't like it.

I was surprised how well it works. It slips on both of my kayaks with no problem. Can be slid out of the way when paddling. Holds my paddle out of the way when fishing. Holds the paddle quite firmly. I was impressed.

This can even be used with a cockpit cover. One of my kayaks has a paddle rest, but that is covered up with the cover, so this is a great feature.

Finally a product that can be used with touring Kayaks to hold the paddle and dose not require drilling the hull. These work great with all of my kayaks. They are easy to put on and take off as needed. They do require standard diameter paddle shafts to work properly. I have not had to retreive a paddle from the water since getting them. Would not suggest for whitewater use.
