This has been a great solution for the problem of where to set a beverage when both hands are needed on the oars. It mounts to the rowing frame with a u-bolt attachment, so it won't work for paddle-only boat trips. The weakest link is the plastic connector on the back of the fabric drink holder that allows it to slide in and out of the aluminum bracket. My first one broke on its maiden voyage, but NRS promptly replaced it after a quick email describing the problem, and the second one has made it through several multi-day trips this summer. Be careful when mounting the bracket not to overtighten the u-bolts on your frame, as it can cause the aluminum mount to twist a bit. This in turn stresses the plastic attachment, leading to its premature demise.

Nice gimmick but not something I am going to keep on my raft frame. I purchased two of the holders to keep drinks cold while on the river. I had safety concerns with the holders when I mounted them on my raft frame - the mounting hardware was obtrusive and to me represented a potential impact/laceration hazard for crew. I tried mitigating the hazard by placing the holders in obscure positions, then had problems keeping the insulated holders in the mounting brackets - they kept popping out. For the money, not worth the gain. For Safety, I took them off my raft. Nice idea.

My only knock on this product is that when I have had an over sized water bottle or more often a tall boy beer it gets stuck to the holder and everything detaches from the frame. Then you are trying hold the oars and put it all back. I have adapted by just drinking regular sized cans of beers a small hardship but fixes the problem.

This thing is the #1 coozy of them all keeps your beer ice cold like it just came out of the cooler. The only thing that could be better is to make it easier to remove so you can consume beverage easier. Or just dont put it down

The Drink Holder was originally designed to fit on the NRS Saddle Bag Cooler, Item #28861. You'll see that there is a patch of hook-and-loop just above its location there to grab and hold the lid. The h-and-l on the bottom can be used to anchor it to a patch on the lid of that cooler or somewhere else.Answered on 12/23/2012 by Clyde from NRS
