NRS Whitewater Kayak Sherpa Q: I am having a difficult time getting the boat to stay high enough on my back to keep from kicking it while walking. It also slides left to right. It appears the straps come loose after tightening. Maybe i should try stern up? Any suggestions? Boat is a JK Superfun. Thanks. Asked on 3/17/2013 by backpackboater from atlanta, ga Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: Trying it stern up is a good idea. To stabilize it side-to-side, try tying two straps to the top handle, with one tail on either side of the boat. Hold them in your hands, maybe while gripping the paddle in front of you. Give us a call, 800.635.5202, if you need further help. Answered on 3/18/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: Although its been awhile since I've used the sherpa, I initially had the same problem. I have a jk 2007 fun... and I'm 5'11". Get the top strap into the indented channel right above the cowling and really tighten it down..I don't remember if the bottom strap fit into the channel behind the back of the cowling....In any case, after experimenting, I got it to work. I think I tried stern down and it didn't work.... Goog luck...Phil Answered on 3/17/2013 by Anonymous A: It was definitely challenging at first, but by Wrapping the top strap around the handle in front of the cockpit it stopped the boat sliding off to one side. In terms of the boat hitting your legs we use a flip line attached to the front handle to pull forward on the nose. Also helps with balance Answered on 3/17/2013 by Anonymous A: Hi, I use mine with a Hefe Grande - and find I have to lean forward a bit to stop myself kicking it. And yes - mine also slides left to right. I have found using a strap on the top grab-loop stops the sideways slip. Answered on 3/18/2013 by Anonymous

Answered on 8/28/2012 by Anonymous A: Um.... thats not a seat, its a carry harness for your kayak. Basically it turns your kayak into a big backpack Answered on 8/28/2012 by Anonymous
