After a 30 minute rescue, we got to dry land and I noticed my bag was in back hatch of this boat. I was scared to check if this bag worked but when I did everything was dry in it -my iPhone, digital camera's and even someones cigarettes were dry as a bone - this bag works as advertised. It is not obvious when you have closed it completely and my fear is not closing it completely. My hands are not as strong as they used to be due to arthritus. Comments about NRS HydroLock Dry Bag: Only gave it a 4 star because I haven't used it on any big water yet. So far, it has performed well, and I like the zip closure...this adds another level of protection. Although I have had no problems with NRS products, I am a little weary of the clear plastic front material, as I have had similar material on other bags tear easily.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about NRS HydroLock Dry Bag: While I do paddle, I bought this to attach to an innertube while floating down the Truckee river. The top closure part was attached to the tube about 6 inches above the water but the rest floated on the water for about 3 hours minus a lunch break on the beach. Everything inside the bag stayed dry, even through tiny rapids.

Merchant response: The clear window is urethane, a very tough, tear-resistant material. You'd really have to work at tearing it, in normal usage.
