Comments about NRS Canyon Camping Dry Box:

This is an improvement over the discontinued York pack. Access to content is much better, without the large lip constricting the opening. I haven't had a serious test of the seals yet, but it did well enough with the less intense whitewater I've been in so far. Expensive, but worth it. I'll be getting another.

My cohorts use a York Pack which is no longer available. This is the closest item and is a very close match. The lip is not as wide so I utilized the side holes to construct handles which work perfectly. The capacity is amazing and the strap closures work great. I love my new dry box purchase. Great product. I look forward to many more river trips with my NRS Box.

Comments about NRS Canyon Camping Dry Box:

I was interested to see how this performed compared the the eddy-out dry boxes i am used to. We used it on an 7 day trip, and it performed great. Everything stayed dry (we used as food box/kitchen box). The lid, turned upside down made for a good tray/kitchen prep /food-staging area. Size was perfect - it fit nicely in the back of 14 raft in the bottom -- onto which other gear could be stacked flat.

These are great dry boxes. We strap them to the rowing frame on our raft. We added rope/PVC pipe handles using 1/2" rope and schedule 40 3/4" PVC which facilitates carrying the boxes.

                  Q:

How does the size compare to a cooler? For example would it be roughly the same as a 35-40 qt. cooler? I can't tell from the liter measurements.

I think the larger Canyon Box compares more closely to a 70 qt. cooler. It
is as large as I ever want to have to move around when fully loaded with our
food. I use it on a raft in place of a metal drybox.

It's bigger than my 50 qt Igloo but smaller than the 80 qt Gott. It's pretty roomy, we like ours for kitchen and food stuff.

Larry, a liter is a slightly larger volume than a quart, so the Canyon Box is equivalent to about a 110 quart cooler. The smaller Boulder Box would be similar in size to a 48 quart cooler.

                    Good morning,
The orange box that I have is 1 inch smaller both in width and length at the bottom than it is at the top. I haven't found the difference to be a problem in securing the box or using it.

The 24" length is at the longest part. It tapers to ~ 22 1/2" at the bottom.

Victor, The box is very sturdy but is not very heavy when it is empty. I used this box for a trip on the Salmon R. this summer and it worked great for food storage. Everything stayed dry and secure. I recommend this box. It's also good for car camping trips because it is very secure.
