I'm not as jazzed about this as the other reviewers. Works great as a dry box - no complaints there. As a table/work kitchen I didn't find it that easy to use. The legs fall out easily, making it hard to move around to get it level on uneven camping ground. The legs are a simple conduit pipe that sinks into a sandy surface. Packing the box so that everything didn't come crashing out when it was opened on it's legs was also tricky. The lid does make a usable working surface when it's set up - but it's pretty narrow.
All-in-all I'm satisfied enough with this dry box. (I'm not going to sell it or try to return it.) In retrospect though I would just buy another camp table and get a cheaper dry box.

This is a nice addition to the river gear collection. With the lid folded open the box provides plenty of flat workspace for food prep and serving, replacing two river tables. At night its super easy to lock up the stuff to keep animals out and prevent the weather from mucking up the kitchen. A great way to organize the camp.

This is one of the best purchases I've ever made and one of the most useful items I have in my arsenal. Every big river expedition needs a decent kitchen box and this one is the best for the price. It is very sturdy and yet not very heavy (as long as you don't fill it with cast iron). It can carry everything you need for 24 days on the Grand Canyon or 3 days on the Rogue. And it is as handy and convenient as your kitchen cupboards at home. This is a must-have item and having one of these makes you a must-invite river runner! Buy one now.
