The plywood isn't that thick, like 1/2 an inch (I'm estimating) but this table is amazingly tough!!! It has a coating on it that is amazing. We use it as a cutting board even. In fact we are planning on buying another one this Speing because it's so great.

The plywood on the Campsite Counter Tables is 1/2" thick. The top surface has a textured plastic finish which I take to be what you call "skidguard." I have three of these tables. It's packed away or I would get you an exact measurement, I'd guess 1/2" and the plywood does have a skid coat on it - very durable. Hope this helps.
