What wet gear?
Large holds 4 life jackets easily and is a great way to corral your gear pre and post paddle. Own two! One for my kayaking equipment and one for the canoe tripping extras.

Bag needs a wash after 2-3 paddles to remove the river smell, but helps if rinsed with rest of gear immediately afterwards.

I own both the large blue bag and the smaller yellow bag and use them for storing and transporting our kayaking gear. The large bag holds our 2 PFDs (but could hold a couple more) and some other gear, and the smaller bag holds all our misc little stuff.
I wish the mesh was of a better quality and had a tighter weave, but I'm hoping I'll be surprised and these bags will hold up in the long run. I used to be into scuba diving and had a mesh bag back then that I now wish I hadn't gotten rid of. It was a much better quality bag, but the thing i liked most about it was it had a shoulder strap attached! THAT is what these bags need!! I think the NRS bags are overpriced for what they are.

I bought the yellow and blue bags to help organize my kayak clothes, within a larger duffel. The yellow works perfectly. The blue is bigger than I pictured and has been repurposed.
They're sturdy, which I like, and with wide space between the fabric, for good ventilation.

Is the 24" measurement the diameter when opened in a cylindrical shape or is it the measurement across the bag when laid flat? I want to use this to carry an excercize ball with a 24" diameter, among other things.

I have the blue bag (large). The specified dimensions are listed as empty and
flat length and width, not diameter and length. I took a look at mine and indeed
it is the measured flat width of the opening, 24".
So, the cylindrical diameter is right about 15.25".
The diameter is roughly 2/3 times the flat width or exactly 2/pi times the flat
width (pi = 3.141592...). The rough diameter calcation is about 5% larger than
the actual diameter so one has to be careful with rough estimates.
A closer approximation can be reached by using 2/3 times the flat width (rough
diameter) and subtracting 5% of the rough diameter from the rough diameter;
2/3*L-.05*2/3*L or 2/3*L - 2/3*L/20. This way one doesn't have to remember pi,
only 5% or 1/20.
For a 24" diameter ball you'll need a 38" flat width bag or greater. You might
try the NRS PFD bag;

The measurement is the width of the bag when empty and laid flat.
These mesh bags are best used as a way to organize loose items
that are stored in a large internal frame back-pack or on a raft.
They are a bit awkard to carry since they only have a drawstring
that cinches the top shut. If you want something to carry a 24" exercisze
ball I suggest you buy the NRS Purest Duffle--it has both handles and a strap.
