Very nice hat. Looks cool and gives great protection from the sun. Size runs just a tiny bit large, but easily fixed by putting a narrow strip of thin craft foam around the inside, tucked into the cloth strip.

I bought this hat mid-summer for sun protection while boating and general head/face protection while riding horses through the brush. It works well for both activities! The strap keeps the hat secure in the wind on the river and the wind of galloping. I ordered a small thinking it might be a touch too big but it was perfect. (I wear a small in most women's clothing.)I have gotten lots of compliments on it, too.

The top part of this hat (the crown?) was too tall for me and looked a little goofy once I tried it on. It is really well made and comfortable, though and has a nice wide brim for excellent sun protection. I exchanged it for the Tula Sierra hat, which I love! I wear it while hiking and working outside and it provides great sun protection for face and neck. Given the brim size, I think this hat would provide the same coverage. The tightly woven material is not the most breathable, but if it were looser, it would not provide the same sun protection, which is a priority for me.
