Comments about Idaho's Salmon River Guide Book 2nd Ed.:

Good Salmon River guide book, including diagrams of the major rapids. Includes some history. Is best used if studied before floating the river (or in advance each night before the next day's float) because there is so much information that only a small section of the river is covered on each page resulting in lots of page turning - not always easy to do while oaring. Camp info is generally ok, although a consistant approach to camp description would be helpful so that the same info is listed for each camp such as access, shade, high water/low water use etc. 2nd edition already out of date with creation of new rapid at Alder Creek, but that is always an issue with guides as rivers keep changing. Overall, a very useful guide to the river.
