Cons Best Uses Comments about RiverMaps Green River in Desolation & Gray Canyons Guide Book: The Whitis guide to Deso/Gray never left my side on two recent trips down the Green. I certainly hope Duwain continues to update this and other RiverMaps guides (tough job, but somebody has to do it!) Pros

Comments about RiverMaps Green River in Desolation & Gray Canyons Guide Book: Having used River Guides Grand Canyon book on two different trips, I had a certain expectation level of accuracy and information completeness which the Green River guide did not live up to for me. The descriptions of rapids was as accurate as expected. However, we found the campsite info on the Ute side almost useless. The descriptions on several hikes left out important details and made getting to locations described difficult. The information provided, in many instances, seemed dated, third-hand, and imcomplete. If you are going on the Green River though, I am afraid there are probably no better alternatives - just don't rely soley on this and get some local knowledge from others who know the river. Pros

Comments about RiverMaps Green River in Desolation & Gray Canyons Guide Book: I used this guide book on a recent Deso/Gray trip in combination with the Belnap guide. Each guidebook has advantages and some unique information. So I would take both if you really want to explore the area. The RiverMaps guide books have the best topo maps of the surrounding area and better descriptions of potential camp sites. If you are only taking one guide book, the RiverMaps version is the best choice. Displaying reviews 1-3 Related Items Alternate Items Related Search
