Best Uses Comments about Yakima BowDown: These are great if you don't plan on taking the mounts off your car. If you do, go with the metal ones. I believe they are not as wide as the older model. Also, they tend to fall from side to side rather than stay stationary when moving a kayak around on them - what I assume to be because of the round bar and just basic physics. This may happen no matter what product but I found that to be a downfall with the product. Not sure about longevity of the product's life because it's all plastic. If I had to do it again, I would probably go with the older, metal frame model, but it really is all in how you plan to use them!
