Comments about NRS Rodeo Split Stern Flotation:

I had these bags for several years. The glue holding the tube to the bags disintegrated but I fixed it. Then some months later, the mouth nozzle dislodged somehow and I couldn't find it. I called NRS to buy a replacement nozzle and they said SEND IT BACK AND WE WILL REPLACE IT, WHICH THEY DID. THE WHOLE PROCESS WAS SUPER EASY AND WITHIN A WEEK I HAD NEW BAGS! DEFINITELY DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FOLKS. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!!!! THANKS NRS FOR PUTTING THE CUSTOMER FIRST!!! YOU HAVE A LIFETIME CUSTOMER IN ME!!!

I purchased two Rodeo split stern float bags at a paddle show a few years ago. Both failed within weeks of each other. The inflation tubes came apart. NRS replaced both without any fuss. The new tubes are made of different material. You can't get better customer service than that. Thank you NRS.

                  Q:

                  Hi,

I have an Oldtown Vapor 10. i bought used at the styrofoam floats are missing. What can you recommend to replace them. Here are specs. Do you need the inner dimensions front and rear or can you match based on model? The cheaper option is better for me as this is just entry level

                  thanks

                  Darren

Darren, online each of our float bags lists the maximum inflated dimensions. Measure the space you have to fill, then select the closest fit that is that size or larger. The goal is to fill the space with the maximum amount of bag, to minimize water collection.

Dave, all the float bag product pages give the inflated dimensions of the bags. Pick a size slightly larger than your space. Then, when inflated in the boat they will displace the maximum amount of water.

These will fill up most of the space behind the seat in a standard river runner or creek boat.
There will be room for a small dry bag or other gear on each side behind the seat when the float is fully inflated.
My problem with these is the inflation tube which on my four year old floats has dry rotted and broken. Hopefully the new ones are sturdier.
                    Regards

It would seem you need to take the measurements provided by NRS and see how they would fit in your "coast to coast boat". Length and width would see a better indicator of fit as opposed to volume.

We don't have float bag specs in volume. Measure your space, then refer to the dimensions shown for each type of bag.

Fully inflated, outside the kayak, the length of the bag is 29". Obviously, the length and general shape, when inflated, will depend on the space within which the flotation bag is deployed.

I'm not sure about the exact height of the rodeo float bags, but they
fit in my Dagger Mamba 7.5 (medium sized boat) and my Liquid Logic Trigger
(smaller). In my experience almost any float bag works for almost any
boat, just stick the float bags (uninflated) into the stern compartment,
then inflate them as much as possible.

I am not sure exactly. It compresses against the top & bottom of the stern

Somewhere around 8-10", tough to measure, they will fill up one half the
stern of any boat I have seen. Let me know if this isn't the answer you
