Comments about Astral Women's Linda PFD:

This is a lovely PFD made just for women. The sizing is extremely generous (I usually need to buy a M/L, but the S/M is actually 100% perfect with plenty of adjustment room if I decide to layer underneath it). It's astoundingly lightweight...I almost thought someone had forgotten to put it in the box when the package arrived because it was that light.
My only complaint is that, once again, like every PFD I have ever had, it is a bit too long in the torso so it tends to ride up in front. This is probably more due to my physique than the jacket because it is a problem I always have, but still it would be nice to have a PFD that fit shorter women.
Still, of all the PFDs I have had for kayaking this is the best so far, and the smooth flat back is perfect for higher touring kayak seatbacks...there is no hindrance at all.

          Q:

          Hi,

Is this PFD US Coast Guard approved? I'll be wearing it to sail a Hobie Cat and may want to race so it will have to qualify.

          Thank you,
          MJ

Yes it is. I wear it kayaking and it works well for high backed seats since most of the material is in the front area of vest.

You will have to ask the manufacturer. I bought it to sail on an A Cat and
found that I could move around the boat easily with the PFD on.
