Scotty Glue-On Mount Pad 341 Q: I have a Sea Eagle 330 that I think this mount will work on. The question is, will the Scotty Bait Caster/Spinning Rod Holder 280 fit into this?? If so, it looks like you have to bolt the base of the rod holder to the plate before epoxying it to your inflatable. I can't see where the rod holder would snap into place or such. Is this correct?? Asked on 4/6/2013 by Doug from Spokane< WA Know the answer? Answer this question 7 answers A: Yes, this works with the Scotty 280 rodholder. Tight lines, Chris Answered on 4/8/2013 by Anonymous A: Yes. I would recommend buying the scotty mount made for pontoon boat or float tube. It has 2 straps on it that you can simply cinch down with the mount already attached. That way u can take it on and off and reposition it at will without having to glue anything on permanently... Answered on 4/8/2013 by Anonymous A: Doug, you would first glue this pad to your boat, using Stabond Adhesive. Then, you can bolt any of the Scotty rod holders and accessories to the Mount Pad. Answered on 4/6/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: I've got the fly rod holder mounted to this add-on pad on my Scadden raft. Works GREAT! Answered on 4/6/2013 by Anonymous A: Doug, There are four square nuts that fit into recesses under the mount. Then the included screws go through the rod holder base and through the mount to the square nuts. Once the whole thing is glued down, the nuts are locked in place and no longer accessible. You would want to be careful not to strip the threads in the square nuts, or use screws that are too long. Hope this is helpful. Ed Answered on 4/7/2013 by Anonymous A: Good news: the rod holder will fit on this plate. Before gluing it, just snap the four square bolts in place, on the back of the plate. If this is your first time gluing staff on your inflatable, I can give you some advise how to do it right (don't use epoxy). My email is ****@***.*** Good luck! Answered on 4/7/2013 by Anonymous A: Hi - I just bought this to mount a Scotty anchor holder on to my inflatable pontoon. I already had the anchor holder but it had a strap-on mount. You are correct - the nuts snap into the underside of the mount prior to gluing it into place, then you screw the base plate of your holder onto the mount.. I'm guessing that the Scotty bases are the same for all of their devices, and your rod holder just pops into the base the same way that my anchor does. I bought the Stabond two part adhesive, and it worked great, but use it outside as it has some nasty solvent smell. Also mix it in something somewhat heavy as it melted through the plastic cup I mixed it in. Good luck!
