From the first time I wore this, it was comfortable. I like the narrow of the shows vs their other models. This does NOT allow many rocks or objects to migrate in your shoe as with some of the other models, i.e. whispers, etc.
For walking 5 miles I would not recommend it as it is not too comfortable as compared to the others.
I had this for a few days but then my daughter who is in college and walking a lot, took them for herself. Guess i need another pair

Love these shoes as a transition between summer sandals and winter boots. Love the slimmer cut of the new Whisper style, much less boxy than the original keens which never worked for me.
