This hat is great on a hot sunny day! The airy mesh next to my head allows for good air circulation that keeps me cool in the heat. It also does a good job of keeping rain off of my glasses. This is a real winner of a product! It enhances the pleasure of my day on the water.

I bought this after trying on a friend's. I LOVE the look, first of all. But immediately after putting it on -- I was stunned by the "airy" feel of the hat. This hat is the best ventilated hat I am aware of. Not only does it provide fantastic coverage of your face and neck, but the part touching your head is mesh -- so that even on the hottest day, you can have a nice breeze across your pate. Absolutely fantastic hot weather hat! I have two of them.

As someone who is follicularly challenged, this is the best hat I've found for protection on the river or lake. No sunscreen from the neck up. It provides plenty of coverage, yet it ventilates well due to the mesh headband inside. Air is literally funnelled up into it. It's also great in the rain as it dries fast, doesn't soak up water and instead sheds it off. It floats if you lose it. The only drawbacks are that it's not appropriate in high, sustained winds and does not pack down in size. It is conspicuous. Depending on you, this could be a pro or con. You WILL be approached with comments and questions.
