The Werner Player Paddle is the most popular choice for serious play boaters who want to get after it. Featuring mid-size down-turned blades, the Player offers a great combination of power and responsiveness.
  • 45 degree blade offset significantlly reduces wind resistance on the forward stroke for more efficient paddling.

  • Premium fiberglass blade and shaft construction provides lightweight responsiveness and durability.

  • Down-turned blades enter the water sooner for more initial power and won't get in your way for free-style moves.

  • Mid-size blades fit a wide range of paddling styles.

  • Small diameter shaft option is available for smaller hands.

Small shaft option is available. To know if you need a small diameter shaft, measure your hand from the base of the palm to the tip of your middle finger. If your measurement is 6 1/4" or smaller you should try a small shaft. You can also print the "Shaft Diameter Print Out" in the Links section and use it to measure your hand.

      A:

Cameron, degree of paddle feather is a matter of personal preference. Many playboaters like less paddle feather. If you can, borrow a buddy's 45-degree paddle and see if it works for you.

      A:

I'd recommend the shortest "standard" paddle you
can find. (ie just the "off-the-shelf" lengths.)
Shorter paddle will help with faster strokes to
take off down a wave. However, if your
sit-on-top is really wide, then you might have a
problem actually reaching the water with a short
paddle. Hopefully your sit-on-top is fairly
      small/narrow. I'm 6'0" 210 lbs and use a 197cm
Werner sidekick. The sidekick is like the
player but with slightly bigger blades - a little
more acceleration, but more tiring. I paddle a
Jackson Superstar in the rivers and a Mega
Neutron in the ocean. I use the same paddle for both.
      Good luck!
