Pros

  • Comfortable Shaft
  • Good Weight Balance
  • Highly Visible

Cons

  • No Wooden Shaft Option

Best Uses

Comments about Werner Bandit Canoe Paddle:

It's a shame that this paddle is no longer offered with a wooden t-grip. The plastic grip is nice (better than the AB Edge) but wood is better. Compared to the AB Edge this paddle has a much nicer (mildly indexed I think) shaft and the blade is much more substantial. Also it's nice to have a bright yellow paddle that's easier to see if.. uh.. let's say I lend it to my _friend_ and they drop it during a white water swim.

Service and delivery comments:

NRS was awesome to deal with. I threw them a curve-ball by having this paddle delivered to a different country than my VISA billing address. NRS gave me a quick phone call to verify. They were great on the phone and it didn't hold up my delivery at all.

Just what I wanted, nice and light.

Pros

  • Comfortable Shaft
  • Durable
  • Inexpensive for quality
  • Lightweight
  • Minimizes Fatigue

Cons

  • Flutters on return

Best Uses

  • Mid-level of seriousness

Comments about Werner Bandit Canoe Paddle:

While it's not the paddle the most serious racers or creek boaters would choose, for the mid-level paddler like me, it's one of the best paddles for your money. I use it on rocky Wisconsin whitewater and in bigger water out West. It's lightweight, has a comfortable shaft and grip, and is quite durable for it's weight and price. Some serious paddlers have even started using auto-door lining to increase the abrasion durability of the bottom edge of the paddle. The only downside is that the blade is so thin that it flutters a bit when doing an underwater return.
